The making of the all new Lux 131 Salon & Day Spa Logo Design in Palos Park, IL.
After speaking with the client to get a better understanding of what the mood and color scheme of her new salon was going to be I started my process by doing some research.
I went to Google.images.com and pulled up logos for other salons and from the popular lines of luxury hair care products so that I could try and get a better feel for what is on trend in that particular industry. The other goal is to make sure the logo is timeless as well.
I then let these ideas float around in my mind for a day or two and one night as I was finally sitting down to relax and watch a little tv a few concepts hit me and I grabbed my sketchbook and started getting them down onto paper. One lead to another and another and before I knew it I had a few pages full of sketches and no idea what was going on in the TV show I was watching.
Then next morning I woke up and immediately got to work on turning some of the sketches into concepts in Adobe Illustrator. Some were an identical replication of my sketch and others grew out of variations of one of the sketches once I started working with it in Illustrator. When all was said and done I had come up with 17 logo concept variations to send off to the client for review.
Two of them were the clear favorites of the team, #11 and #15. So we combined them to come up with the official logo for the new Lux 131 Salon & Day Spa!
