Sometimes you see a fellow illustrator post some sketches or drawings and something about them intrigues or inspires you. Maybe it is at first how talented they are but also I find that I will notice how they do things differently then I do or have done. Where they place the eyes on the face, how high or low they set the ears on the side of the head and so on.
I like how studying those difference challenges my brain to think differently and often find that attempting to sketch a version of their drawing myself helps me see things in a new way.
This weekend I found myself inspired by some sketches of kids posted by artist Brittany Harris on her Instagram (her sketch from her Instagram is shown below).
And so I worked on a few sketches myself in her character style. Was a fun little exercise and a great chance to grow a little bit more.
